Influenza Season Staffing Forecast
Influenza Presentation
Influenza Dashboard
To support a medical staffing agency in preparing for peak influenza season, I conducted a multi-step data analysis to help forecast staffing needs across all 50 U.S. states. The goal was to determine when and where to allocate temporary medical personnel based on historical flu trends.
Using Microsoft Excel and Tableau Public, I cleaned and integrated influenza data from multiple sources, applied statistical testing to identify seasonal patterns, and built visual forecasts to predict staffing demand by state. I translated business requirements into analytical steps and presented my findings through a Tableau dashboard designed for operational decision-making.
Key insights included:
• Peak flu periods varied significantly by region.
• States with earlier flu spikes required accelerated staffing timelines.
• Year-over-year comparisons highlighted consistent high-demand areas.
